One of our all time favorites!

Throwback to Dawid Godziek and Jan Kasl giving us this gem.

Wonder how much allergy medication Dawid had to take before riding this…

Disrupting Downhill MTB: Inside the €100,000 Race

Hold onto your helmets, folks - 2025 World Cup downhill season is nearly here, and it’s gonna be belt-ed like never before.

This year, four elite teams are ditching the old-school chains and going full futuristic with Gates belt drives and gearboxes.

Why? Because a massive €100,000 prize purse is up for grabs for the first rider to win a World Cup race on one of these setups.

Let’s meet the contenders for the Belted Purse:

MS Zerode

PC: Max Borron

Zerode’s been playing with gearboxes for longer than we’ve been trying to figure out our suspension setups.

They were one of the first to rock the gearbox world, and now they’re coming back with some serious firepower.

With Eleonora Farina, Sebastian Holguín, and Valentina Roa Sánchez leading the charge, it’ll be exciting to see if the OG gearbox pioneers can snag the top spot, or if they’ll just end up in the pit like the rest of us after one too many endos.

Aon Racing

PC: Max Borron

These guys are all about the Gamux bike. A striking, wild-looking machine that’s as bold as it is bizarre.

With Reece Wilson, Hattie Harnden, Monika Hrastnik, Henry Kerr, and some juniors, Heather Wilson and Stan Nisbet, Aon’s got a strong squad ready to turn heads.

Intense Factory Racing

PC: Max Borron

Intense is going full-throttle this year with Joe Breeden and Millie Johnset throwing down on their belt-driven bikes.

If their confidence is as high as their speed, these two are serious threats for the win.

Atherton Racing

PC: Max Borron

Charlie Hatton, Elise Empey, and maybe even Rachel Atherton (if she’s not busy winning everything again) are all in it for the win.

Charlie recently showed off his skills at a totally-not-a-race-but-still-kinda-a-race event at Bikepark Wales, putting down some impressive times.

Now, we’ll see if he can keep that magic going for the first few World Cup races and prove that Atherton Racing’s got the belt game locked down.

As the season opener nears, the real questions start:

Who’s gonna make history first?

Will belt drives be the game changer we’ve all been waiting for?

And is this the dawn of a new age in DH racing, or are we just here for the sweet, sweet sound of silence without chains?

One thing’s for sure: the battle for the Belted Purse is on, and we’re here for all of it.

Trail of the Day

Lower C-Buster - Mount Seymour

PC; Good Sir Martin

The puddles are gone, the bridge is sketchy, and the trail names are more confusing than a GPS meltdown.

But hey, pick a direction: climb, descend, or accidentally end up somewhere near Penny Lane wondering how you got there.

Just smile, pedal, and pretend you meant to do that.

That’s all for today folks. We hope everyone gets some saddle time out there. See you all tomorrow! 🤙

For the ❤️ of two wheels.
