Vero rides like he's trying to outrun gravity itself, and the Santa Cruz keeps up without breaking a sweat.

Roots, berms, rock gardens, senders, it’s a full-course MTB meal.

We got arm pump just watching.

⏰ Watch time - 2 min 11 sec

Bonus: Mud everywhere, chaos in the air, and somehow Loic Bruni came out not just clean(ish), but victorious.

MTB Film Anytime Just Made Emmy History

PC: Sterling Florence

Yep, you read that right.

Anytime, the dirt-slinging, soul-stirring mountain bike film from Anthill Films and Red Bull Media House, just won a freaking Sports Emmy for Outstanding Camera Work – Long Form.

That’s right, our little world of loam and high-speed carnage just got name-dropped alongside ESPN and Spielberg.

Spielberg. The guy with the shark.

The win was announced at the 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, which went down May 20 at Lincoln Center in NYC, aka the kind of place where people wear pants without chain grease on them.

PC: Anthill Films

Originally dropped in September 2024 on Red Bull TV, Anytime skips the traditional voiceovers and inspirational violins and instead throws you straight into the dirt-blasted chaos with 15 riders tearing across the Chilean Andes, Swiss Alps, North American forests, deserts, and a few cities that probably didn’t know what hit them.

There’s no narrator holding your hand here, just pure, unfiltered let's-hope-the-camera-guy-survives-this-shot energy.

The riders? An Avengers-level lineup: Patricia Druwen, Lucy Van Eesteren, Vinny Armstrong, Harriet Burbidge-Smith, Brage Vestavik, Kade Edwards, Brett Rheeder, Thomas Genon, Hannah Bergemann, Robin Goomes, Vaea Verbeeck, Cami Nogueira, Emil Johansson, Carson Storch, and Casey Freakin’ Brown.

Behind the lens, we’ve got camera wizards Colin Jones, Darren McCullough, and Darcy Wittenburg leading the charge.

Backed by a squad of visual chaos enablers: Anna Dzickaniece, Ansel Luchau, Kelsey Toevs, Brian Wulf, Matt Butterworth, and Jonathan Osborne.

Their collective eye for turning sketchy descents into cinematic gold? Apparently good enough to catch the Emmys' eye.

Colin Jones, Director & Aerials Drone Pilot , Anthill Films, and Darcy Wittenburg, Director, Co-founder of AnthillFilms and Creative Director.

“It’s a huge honour for our whole team to be recognized in this way! My partners Darren McCullough and Colin Jones deserve the lion’s share of the credit for this award, they never stop pushing themselves to advance their cinematography. That energy motivates the whole crew year after year.”

Darcy Wittenburg, Director and DP at Anthill Films

From all of us at The Send It Daily, massive congrats to the Anytime crew.

Keep proving that the best stories don’t need million-dollar contracts, just dirt, guts, and someone willing to hang out of a heli for the shot.

Florida: Sun, surf, sand and…mountain biking?

By Sam Greenberg

When the landfill is considered the highest point in your state it would be easy to assume that Jeep trails and fire roads are the only avenues for mountain biking, right?

Wrong; nothing could be further from the truth. Florida mountain biking may never be whispered in the same anticipatory, bated breath as Whistler, Moab or Bentonville but the quantity and quality of trails would surprise even the most seasoned mountain biker.

From Ocala to the north all the way south to Virginia Key, Florida mountain biking delivers fun for all ages and levels of experience.

Trail builders in Florida get creative to deliver fast, technical, flowy trails for the most hardened riders.

Using natural obstacles like thick, Saw Palmetto tree roots and limestone rock are just one of the techniques used to build quality trails.

Wood features like bridges, skinny catwalks, wall rides, seesaws and stairs are another.

Concrete berms, drops, gap jumps, pump tracks and jump lines complete the ways that Florida mountain bike parks deliver.

Virginia Key, located between famed South Beach to the north and Key Biscayne to the south in Biscayne Bay is a gem of South Florida mountain biking trails.

Clocking in at over 9.5 miles of easy, intermediate and advanced trails, the park sits on a former dump site and overlooks Fisher Island, a neighborhood on Biscayne Bay featuring the highest per capita income in the United States.

Built by famed trail builder and designer Bernard “Frenchy” Riviere, Virginia Key Mountain Bike Trails are some of the fastest trails with incredible flow.

Its signature blue woodwork features raised bridges, twin 40-foot ramps, short, technical climbs, a seesaw, stairs and a solid jump line that will make any mountain biker’s heart flutter.

The trails are well marked and feature an onsite bike shop and mechanic.

Windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, canoeing and a public beach are also available in the park.

Roughly 35 miles northwest of Virginia Key lies Markham Park in Sunrise, Florida.

The park sits on over 600 acres, advertising camping, water sports, a remote controlled airstrip, pavilions and a gun range.

The real star of the show is the mountain bike park. Arguably one of the most technical trails in Florida, Markham Park features 10-plus miles of skinny ridge lines, gap jumps, technical ascents, switchbacks, and serious drops.

An on-site bike shop and mechanic and a food truck make Markham Park a featured Florida trail.

PC: Antonio Suarez

Head 20 miles northeast from Markham Park and you’ll find Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach.

A miniature version of Markham Park, this fast, flowy trail was recently expanded from 4.6 miles to almost 8 miles of concrete berms, switchback ascents, short, punishing climbs, gap jumps and ridge line riding.

Water skiing, a dog park, sand courts for beach volleyball and tennis and pavilions round out this terrific, local park located only a short drive from the beach.

Fifty miles due north of Quiet Waters sits Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound.

Built and maintained by Club Scrub, a premier organization of dedicated volunteers, J.D. features approximately 10 miles of some of the most fun mountain biking in Florida.

PC: Patrick Wayne Photography

The first third of the trails are perhaps the fastest, rollercoaster-like routes with jump lines that beg for big air. Part two tightens up and the single track bogs down as the palm tree roots and sugar sand quickly bleed speed and punishes riders’ legs.

Part three dumps into Bunker Hill, a dedicated expert park featuring rock gardens, steep climbs, jumps and drops.

The entire trail is super exposed and if the distance, technical aspects, roots and sugar sand doesn’t slow you down, the heat and humidity will. Jonathan Dickinson is a cardio challenge for even the most experienced of riders.

Drive northwest for three hours and just west of Tampa Bay lies Lithia, Florida.

There you’ll find the new crowned jewel of Florida mountain biking, Alafia River State Park.

Featuring 20+ miles of varied riding, Alafia combines rollercoaster riding with required technical know-how, all while trying to stay out of the ponds and lakes that dot the park so that one doesn’t become an alligator’s meal (no, not kidding).

A short, 10-minute ride west from Alafia and you’ll head to Balm Boyette. Fun for the whole family, Balm Boyette sports the Ridgeline, a mile and a half of perhaps the most fun trail in the whole state.

If you find yourself biking Alafia, the Ridgeline trail at Balm Boyette is worth the short drive.

Drive 110 miles northwest from Lithia and you’ll arrive in Ocala and the most noteworthy of Florida trails, Santos.

PC: Terickson

With over 80+ miles of trails, Santos features the state’s only IMBA Epic Ride for its Cross Florida Greenway, a 42-mile ride adjacent to the Ocala National Forest.

This is an easy ride; adrenaline junkies will want to head to The Vortex, a technical bike park featuring rocky trails, wood berms, jump lines and The Corkscrew, reported to be largest man-made feature in the state.

Florida features almost 300 bike parks with close to 2750 individual trails. Florida’s MTB community is large, closely connected and supportive.

Top-quality shops with knowledgeable technicians dot the state. Florida may never have the cache of the Pacific Northwest or High Desert but you can easily find fun, technical rides throughout the state.

It may not be a premier destination for mountain bikers but to combine it with everything else Florida has to offer—amusement parks, water sports, fishing, scuba diving, etc.— it’s worth a call to a local shop to demo or rent a bike if you’re not willing to ship your own.

Bring lots of water to combat the heat and humidity and do what mountain bikers do all over the world: Send it!

Trail of the Day

Kitsuma - Old Fort, North Carolina

PC: Pivot Cycles

This point-to-point singletrack snakes through Black Mountain, NC like it’s late to something important. Machine-groomed in most spots, but with just enough bite to keep you humble.

From the Ridgecrest Conference Center, it climbs up a steep series of switchbacks that feel like Mother Nature’s HIIT workout, then rewards the effort with flow that makes your brain melt a little.

Start from Old Fort Picnic Grounds if you like earning your descents, or from the top if you’re just here to party.
