Someone call the city planners.
Turns out you don’t need trails when you have concrete staircases and angry locals.
Watching Brook follow Tom feels like parkour, mountain biking, and a chase scene from a Fast & Furious movie had an unholy baby.
By the bottom, you’re not sure if you witnessed riding brilliance or mild criminal activity.

Bonus: If you enjoy watching expensive bikes impersonate lawn darts, this will be your cinema.
Morillon served up a track slicker than a buttered eel on a slip-n-slide.
Race Day 2 is either going to be redemption or a hospital roll call.

The Ultimate Recap of Crankworx Whistler 2025

Crankworx Whistler 2025 just wrapped, and the mountain biking world is still collectively hungover from a week of racing, sending, and generally proving that Canadians throw a better party than anyone else on two wheels.
If you weren’t there, don’t worry, we’ve got the recap.
If you were there, you’re probably still washing dust, beer, and glitter out of your hair.
Canadian Open DH – Old School, Full Send
The OG Canadian Open DH came back swinging.
Luke Meier-Smith took the men’s win, with Jackson Frew and Dane Jewett following.
Mille Johnset topped the women’s, chased by Emmy Lan and Indy Deavoll.
Then Whistler weather pulled a prank and cancelled the RockShox CODH finals mid-week due to low clouds.
Canadian Open Enduro – Dirt Therapy, But Make It Savage

PC: Clint Trahan/Crankworx
The elite women’s race was all Elly Hoskin, who won four of five stages.
Andréane Lanthier Nadeau and Katy Winton rounded out the podium.
On the men’s side, Elliot Jamieson survived by 0.9 seconds over Wei-Tien Ho, with Lief Rodgers in third.
That wasn’t racing the clock, that was mugging it.
Roots, rocks, and enough elevation to make lungs scream louder than the hecklers at Heckler’s Rock.
By the end, most riders weren’t racing the clock, they were racing their own survival instincts.
Enduro might be “endurance,” but at Whistler, it’s more like an endurance test for your decision to keep racing bikes.
Garbanzo DH – Brutality, Thy Name is Garbo

If the Canadian Open is a punch to the jaw, Garbanzo DH is a 15-minute body slam.
Fifteen minutes, 3,400 vertical feet, and a free wrist pump for everyone.
Richie Rude defended his Garbo crown.
Ryan Gilchrist came in second, with Luke Meier-Smith in third.
On the women’s side, Aletha Ostgaard ended Georgia Astle’s streak, with Emmy Lan picking up third.

Air DH – The People’s Race
Twenty-four hours after Garbo, Richie Rude went full victory lap and still won.
Jenna Hastings crushed the women’s, followed by Taylor Ostgaard and Amy Morrison.
The emotional highlight was Anneke Beerten taking her symbolic retirement run in a massive party train.
If you didn’t cry, you’re lying.
Air DH is the one event where literally everyone can pretend they’re a pro, except when you watch the pros, and you realize you’re basically a toddler in comparison.
Whip-Off World Champs – The Circus Came to Town

Sideways bikes, sideways brains, upright stoke.
Alessio Tonoli and Janelle Soukup walked away with their first Whip-Off titles.
Style points rained down like dollar bills at a Vegas show.
This was peak Crankworx: pointless, reckless, and perfect.
Dual Slalom – Gladiators in Lycra

Jordy Scott took gold over Martha Gill in a barn-burner final.
Julia Lofqvist Traum claimed bronze.
For the men, Dante Silva snagged his first Whistler win over Austin Warren, with Tegan Cruz in third.
Two start gates, one finish line, and berms that kicked like a caffeinated mule.
Red Bull Joyride – Emil. Again.

Emil Johansson showed up and, in typical Emil fashion, did the impossible while looking like he was late to brunch.
Joyride is slopestyle’s Super Bowl, and once again, Emil made it look like a video game with cheat codes.
Tim Bringer finished second, Erik Fedko third.
On the women’s side, Alma Wiggberg defended her crown with a 91.4.
Robin Goomes and Shealen Reno rounded out the podium.
At this point Emil isn’t competing, he’s inventing new laws of physics.
Pump Track – Kids, Pros, and Chaos

The Ultimate Pump Track Challenge brought out everyone from BMX kids to World Cup legends, and somehow Niels Bensink and Eddie Reynolds still made it look unfairly easy.
Sabina Košárková beat Jordy Scott for women’s gold, with Caroline Buchanan in third.
To cap it off, Ryan Gilchrist and Košárková sealed the overall Pump Track series titles.
Pump track is where egos get leveled, because nothing’s more humbling than getting smoked by a 14-year-old who doesn’t even own a driver’s license.
The Vibe – Why Crankworx Still Rules
Beyond the racing, the week was a circus of bike checks, gear spy shots, randoms, unsanctioned whip-offs, and enough dog content to start its own spinoff series.
New tech dropped, legends like Anneke Beerten said emotional goodbyes, and Whistler once again reminded the world it’s the mecca of mountain biking.
Whether you came for the racing, the parties, or just to spot your favorite pro at the lift line, Crankworx delivered.
Bottom line? Crankworx Whistler 2025 was a fever dream of racing, sending, and sideways chaos.
The Canadian Open still slaps, Garbo still breaks souls, Joyride still belongs to Emil, and the Whip-Off still proves that sometimes the best events don’t need a stopwatch.
If this week taught us anything, it’s that no matter how much the bike world changes, Whistler in August remains the beating heart of the sport.

Dream Rides ❤️

Some people ride to escape capitalism; others commission a gold Santa Cruz V10 and say, “Yes, I’d like my shred sled to look like a Bond villain’s getaway vehicle.”
This is one ride that’ll makes your $12k carbon whip look like a garage sale find.

Trail of the Day
Gravitron Mountain Biking Trail - Lithia, Florida
Lithia, Florida doesn’t exactly scream “gnar capital,” but Gravitron didn’t get the memo.
This trail is basically a swamp monster with a trail marker.
One direction, double black, six minutes of teeth-gritting chaos, it’s got the personality of a Florida man headline.
Ride it once, and you’ll either walk taller or limp slower.
