The art of airtime.
Neukirchen served as the ultimate backdrop, but Martin Söderström’s air game was the real scene-stealer.
This is what peak Nine Knights performance looks like.
The producers need to bring this MTB event back.

La Thuile Built a World Cup Track and It’s Absolutely Unhinged
Deep in the Italian Alps, where the espresso flows like water and the trails are spicier than Nonna’s arrabbiata, La Thuile decided to go full send and build a UCI World Cup downhill course.
And they didn’t just build a trail, they birthed a monster.
This alpine death chute is the brainchild of Enrico Martello, local trail boss and possible wizard, and Swiss sculptors of gnar Trailworks.
It drops over 1,200 vertical meters (yes, METERS), and if you think that’s “just downhill,” please go sit on a root and think about your life.
Not Your Average Bike Park Bobble

Martello didn’t show up with a Bobcat and a Pinterest board.
He and the crew hiked every square inch of the mountainside like grazing goats, choosing lines by topography, vibe, and the potential to make Loïc Bruni’s eyes twitch.
Minimal machines, maximum madness.

The track is hand-carved in places with picks and shovels, like it’s 1896 and we’re mining for flow.
It’s not smooth. It’s not safe. It’s glorious.
You’ve got tight woods, rock chutes and a fast meadow section where you’ll hit terminal velocity and question why you ever left the comfort of asphalt.

And then there’s “Il Salto di Martello, ” the Martello Drop, a near-vertical plunge that’s already been responsible for several brown shorts and two new religions.
Tested by the Best

Before you could toss a World Cup sticker on it, the trail had to survive scrutiny from actual downhill royalty.
Enter Loris Vergier and Loïc Bruni, two riders with more talent than sense.
They came. They rode. They gave feedback.
Minor changes were made.
Nothing got tamed. If anything, things got meaner.
Ready for the Carnage

From July 3–6, 2025, the world’s fastest masochists will descend on La Thuile to race this beast during the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.
And somewhere in the trees, Enrico Martello will nod silently, espresso in hand, like the benevolent trail god he is.
So yeah. La Thuile didn’t just build a race track.
They summoned a downhill demon from the bedrock of the Alps, and we can’t wait to watch it feast.
