Another day, another edition of The Send It Daily.

Rachel Atherton, Queen of Shred and Unchecked Intensity, spotted absolutely disrespecting the limits of what a "camp" is supposed to look like.

This isn’t s’mores and kumbaya. It’s more like full-send therapy with handlebars.

THROW BACK: This edit smells like chainsaw oil and stubbornness.

Tor Cameron’s “Compulsion” is what happens when someone stops asking for permission and starts building because the voices said so.

There are lines here that have no right existing, but they do, and Tor rides them like he’s on a tight schedule with destiny.

Bonus:  Six months. Four locations. One dude who apparently doesn’t believe in off-seasons.

DIME is like a mixtape made of dirt, fog, and the occasional frozen regret.

MERIDA DIRT – The Bike That Wants to Fight You (and Then Hug It Out)

If bikes were people, the new Merida DIRT would be that scrappy punk at the skatepark who shows up with scabs on both knees, lands a barspin into a handshake, and then politely offers you a sip of flat Monster Energy.

This isn’t your average “let’s ride mellow singletrack and journal about it” type of hardtail.

No.

The DIRT is here to raise hell on the pumptrack, double-down on dirt jumps, and quietly convince your wallet that you absolutely need another bike, because this one’s got fists.

DIRT Simple, DIRT Dangerous

Merida just dropped two new dirt jump hardtails into the wild, and they’re calling the lineup “DIRT,” which is refreshingly honest considering most bikes these days sound like limited edition energy drinks or IKEA furniture.

What you’re getting here is exactly what it says on the can: a battle-hardened aluminium frame built for smashing booters, slashing berms, and surviving your worst-case landings with enough leftover dignity to hit it again.

The Builds: One for the Groms, One for the Gremlins

There are two models in the line: the DIRT 500 and the DIRT 700.

£950 / €1140*

  • The DIRT 500 is the affordable, send-ready little beast with a Manitou Circus DJ fork and Shimano brakes.
  • £950 / €1140*
  • Think of it as your wingman for first flips, worst whips, and all the parking lot nose manuals you’ll attempt before taco’ing your wheel on a curb.
£1800 / €2160*
The DIRT 700 is built for serious senders who demand top-tier performance. With the legendary RockShox Pike DJ fork, a SRAM 4-piston rear brake for max control, and
a bombproof DT Swiss wheelset, this bike is made for riders pushing limits.
  • The DIRT 700 is the “you take this seriously, don’t you” spec. RockShox Pike DJ fork, SRAM 4-piston brake, and a DT Swiss wheelset that could probably survive a direct meteor strike.
£1800 / €2160*
  • Maxxis DTH tires round out the build because you should at least pretend to have traction when you’re upside-down in midair.

Both bikes come in two frame sizes: Short and Long, depending on how tall you are or how many limbs you want to risk at once.

Geometry Made for Mayhem

Geometry-wise, Merida nailed that Goldilocks “not too twitchy, not too chill” handling sweet spot.

There’s nothing weird or proprietary here either — standard headset, standard bottom bracket, and yes, it takes a gyro.

Cue barspins. Cue headaches.

Built Like a Tank With a Sense of Humor

Merida used their tried-and-true 6061 aluminum with tube shaping to give it some stiffness where it counts and just enough forgiveness when things go south.

It’s rated to Category 5, which is “Freeride and Downhill” territory, translation: It’s overbuilt enough for the crap you’re gonna put it through.

And there’s a five-year warranty, which is more than you’ll get from your last Tinder date.

There’s even a bottle cage mount because dirt jumpers are thirsty too, okay?

The Verdict: You Probably Need This

The Merida DIRT range isn’t trying to be revolutionary. It’s not pretending to be some carbon fiber marvel from the year 2089.

It’s a rowdy, raw, ride-it-‘til-it-breaks kind of bike, and it wants you to stop overthinking your line and just go for it.

Whether you’re a grom looking for a first taste of flight or a washed-up adult clinging to your last barspin, this thing will show up, take the hit, and ask if you want to go again.

The paint job slaps, the stance is criminal, and that build kit?

It’s like Voltron made a cameo in Whistler.

If bikes had ego, this one would be insufferable.

A well-deserved god complex.

Berm Mountain Biking Trail - Lithia, Florida

This trail’s a buffet of commitment issues: rocks that aren’t smooth, berms that flirt and ghost, and a jump that only shows up if you really mean it.

Welcome to therapy on two wheels.

That’s all for today folks. We hope everyone gets some saddle time out there. See you all tomorrow! 🤙
