The New Carbon - The Send It Daily - 406

A full day of travel delays, car rides, three flights, and we still got The Send It Daily out! We've got gnome-fueled freeride, urban send chaos, and a recyclable carbon frame that might finally make your conscience as light as your bike! LET'S SEND IT 👇

881 words of pure stoke.

Photo of the Day

Nothing says ‘local hero’ like turning someone’s daily walk to work into a Red Bull highlight reel.

There’s no hesitation, just pure Eastern European send energy and a total disregard for municipal design.

MUST WATCH: Imagine digging a backyard jump as a teen and ending up redefining an entire genre.

Brandon nuked the trail, rebuilt it, and made everyone else follow.

This episode is proof that some riders don’t climb the ladder, they backflip over it.

20 years of Semenuk? Still not enough.

⏰ Watch time - 06 min 28 sec

Bonus: What do you get when you mix 30+ freakishly good riders, a backyard jump line, and a suspicious number of gnome hats?

You get 13 minutes of the most chaotic, euphoric shred sesh this side of the fairy realm.

Dirt was flown, shapes were thrown, and several gnomes are still unaccounted for.

We don’t know what’s in the Welsh water, but we want some.

Focus Develops Recyclable Carbon Fiber Frame - The JAM² Next

Focus is making waves with the JAM² Next, a prototype eMTB frame built from thermoplastic carbon fiber.

Meaning it can be melted down and repurposed instead of ending up as landfill filler or a glorified flower pot.

PC: Focus

This is big news for sustainability, long considered the biggest knock against carbon frames and a core reason why brands like Commencal have stayed loyal to alloy.

Unlike traditional epoxy-based carbon that’s permanently cured and impossible to break down, the thermoplastic frame can be recycled into new products like crank arms or city bikes, keeping its material value intact.

PC: Focus

The frame is bolted, not glued, allowing for clean disassembly at the end of its life, and Focus has even built the hardware with teardown in mind.

Manufactured in Belgium with Rein4ced, the JAM² Next skips hand-laying carbon entirely, no skilled labor, no long lead times, and no shipping halfway around the planet.

The automated process cuts lead times from six months to just six weeks, drastically shrinking the supply chain and its carbon footprint.

PC: Focus

For a Europe-based brand, building close to home isn’t just efficient, it’s responsible.

The thermoplastic front triangle weighs just 1,650 grams, about a kilo lighter than aluminum, while still delivering competitive performance for most riders.

It won’t rival the strength-to-weight of top-tier hand-laid carbon just yet, but it’s squarely in the mid-range fight with far fewer environmental compromises.

PC: Focus

Focus isn’t committing to full production yet, but this project is backed with real R&D, a sustainability award, and tech that could shift how carbon bikes are built.

It shows that better, cleaner carbon is possible, and the rest of the industry is officially out of excuses.

Will it save the planet? Nope. But it might save your conscience.

Trail of the Day

Smith Creek Jump Line Mountain Biking Trail - West Kelowna

A full-blown airborne thesis on what happens when one man gets spiritually bonded with a shovel.

Michael Kerkovius sculpted every lip and berm with monk-like patience and the precision of a surgeon with a caffeine addiction.

The jumps range from snack-size to full-meal chaos, and each one is smoother than your latest excuse for casing.

But don’t get it twisted , this is not a ride-first, think-later situation.

Cruise it before you send it or risk becoming a cautionary tale in a group chat.

That’s all for today folks. We hope everyone gets some saddle time out there. See you all tomorrow! 🤙
