Bend gets brand-new DH trails built by freeride royalty, a waffle-armored SB165 steals the spotlight, and BMX senders defy logic, the stoke is peaking. LET'S SEND IT 👇

Bonus: Ever wondered what anxiety looks like at 3,300 meters?
This is it: a death sprint off a glacier with 349 maniacs beside you.
One wrong move and you’re a human snowplow.

Nothing says freedom like launching a Walmart BMX over your uncle’s Dodge Caravan in striped pants and questionable supervision.

New Public DH Trails Opening in Bend, OR

PC: Izzy Lidsky
Bend, Oregon has always had the singletrack.
But when it came to downhill, riders were stuck choosing between XC purgatory or backyard features made from IKEA bedframes and bad ideas.
That all changes now, because the freeride cartel just rolled into town with machines, shovels, and a pathological hatred of flat corners.
Enter RAD Trails: The Dirt Avengers.

PC: Izzy Lidsky
RAD Trails, the nonprofit shovel-swinging branch of Cam Zink’s Sensus crew, just teamed up with COTA to bring proper DH trails to Wanoga Butte.
They’re building three brand-new downhill lines and a climb trail, because even chaos should be earned.
Basically, the freeride Gods showed up and brought the entire Book of Send with him.
The Dream Team You Definitely Can’t Afford.

PC: Izzy Lidsky
The build squad reads like a Fest Series dream: Carson Storch, Cam McCaul, Dusty Wygle, Arlie Connolly, and Jacob Guthrie.
Trail wizard Cody Wilkins is running point, and this crew has more dirt cred than your local dig day has excuses.
Jump Line = Go Time.

PC: Izzy Lidsky
They broke ground in June and immediately escalated to “oh hell yes” mode.
The main jump line, machine-built and hand-polished, opened yesterday, July 9th, and it's still warm with builder sweat.
Yes, it’s been tested: multiple times, at speed, by humans with suspiciously little regard for consequences.
This Build Ain’t a One-Night Stand.
Wilkins says the team’s coming back in fall to dial it in before winter hits.
These trails were built to be ridden, not repaired, and the locals are getting the good stuff, not leftovers.
The Perfect Blend of Chaos & Coordination.
COTA brings the spreadsheets, RAD Trails brings the send, and together they’re cooking up spicy singletrack stew.
None of it happens without backing: Bend Sustainability Fund ponied up, Visit Bend showed love, Kubota rolled out machines, and Ablis CBD brought the water truck because dry digging is basically dirt purgatory.
What Now?

Stoke is high, dirt is fresh, and the jump line is very much open.
The other two DH trails and the climb line drop in 2026, feeding straight into Bend’s existing trail network like they always belonged there.

The Yeti SB165 comes strapped with a 63.5° head angle and 165mm of rear travel, which is geometry-speak for “point it downhill and hold on.”
Wrapped in a bright orange, waffle-textured Lotus Pro™ kit, this beast holds up even better than it looks.

Trail of the Day
Cedar Rock Trail Multi Trail - Cedar Mountain, NC
Cedar Rock is the trail that separates the bold from the broken derailleur hangers.
It’s steep, chunky, and about as forgiving as a concrete pillow.
Don’t let the trailhead fool you, this thing starts mean and finishes meaner.
Beginners, stay in the parking lot and hydrate.
